Useful information for Parents

Book Bags need to be in school every day!

Homework: Suggested home learning challenges for each week are on the back of the half term overview.  The most important homework for the Autumn term is daily reading.

Reading: The single, most important way you can help your child in year one is to read with them every day. Keep it short and enjoyable about 5 mins each day. Read a few pages and talk about what you have read then sign your child’s reading folder to show you have read together. Children who have read are rewarded with good reading stickers for their chart.

Spellings: For the Autumn term we are working on spellings in school.  Later on in the year spellings will be sent home.

PE: The children will need outdoor PE kit on Thursday and indoor PE kit on Tuesday. Earrings MUST NOT be worn for PE.
