Useful information for Parents

Book Bags need to be in school every day!

Homework: Pre-learning tasks will be given during the last week of each half term, ready for the new topic in the following half term.

  • Spellings - handed out weekly on a Friday, to be returned on a Wednesday. To continuously revise the Year 1/2 common exception words
  • Maths - to continuously revise 2's, 5's and 10's multiplication and division facts and to practice telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes
  • Topic - during a topic, your child will be given a Best Book piece of homework for them to choose from

Reading: The single, most important way you can help your child in year two is to read with them every day. Keep it short and enjoyable about 5 mins each day. Read a few pages and talk about what you have read then sign your child’s reading folder to show you have read together. Children who have read are rewarded with good reading stickers for their chart.

PE: The children will need outdoor PE kit on Tuesday and indoor PE kit on Thursday. Earrings MUST NOT be worn for PE, and hair tied back.
