Linked to our topic based on the story of Lila and the Secret of Rain we decided to take on the challenge of making our own rainsticks. So many of the skills we have learnt this term helped us. We used our sense of hearing to decide which filling would sound most like rain. We needed our measurement skills when we made the cylinder for our rain stick. We were inspired by African geometric patterns when we designed the patterns to decorate our stick. It was a very tricky challenge but with teamwork and persistence we did it. Everyone’s rain stick sounded great and they all looked amazing.
