WELCOME TO YEAR TWO

Mrs Speight and Mrs Smith

Battenfelds for Sale!! Installed and Running in Canada! Make offer ...

We've made it through to the Easter holidays!  We hope that you manage to enjoy these two weeks with your families safe at home.  We are launching our home learning and communication with families after the Easter holidays.  This will be through ClassDojo.  It can be accessed on a computer, IOS and android devices.  Please read the letter in the Letters to Parents and send  your email address to school.

School closure

As the school is closing on Friday, we have created paper based learning packs which are available from the school office if your child has not already received it.    In addition to this, there are many online resources/ideas which can be used to help support your child's learning during their absence from school.  Below are a number of websites, suggested games etc listed in word documents for you to access.  We also encourage the children to log onto TT Rockstars to practise their times tables (if your child has forgotten their log in, please email your child's teacher or contact the office).

We appreciate how difficult this situation is and will continue to keep posting updates to support and assist you and your child.

Useful information for Parents

Book Bags need to be in school every day!

Homework:-

Weekly-  Homework will not be handed out weekly, however it would be very helpful if you could support your child by regularly practising number bonds to 10 and the 2, 5 and 10 times tables.

Half Term - Pre-learning tasks will be given during the last week of each half term, ready for the new topic in the following half term.

Reading: The single, most important way you can help your child in year two is to read with them every day. Keep it short and enjoyable about 5 mins each day. Read a few pages and talk about what you have read then sign your child’s reading folder to show you have read together. Children who have read are rewarded with good reading stickers for their chart.

PE: The children will need outdoor PE kit on Monday and indoor PE kit on Thursday. Earrings MUST NOT be worn for PE, and hair tied back.
