We have had lots of fun this week practising counting in steps of 2,5 and 10 using lots of practical equipment.  We have made a brilliant hand print number line counting in 5s.  We have practised counting aloud in 2s, 5s and 10s in lots of different ways as it takes quite a bit of practise to remember the sequences.  It is especially tricky when you try counting backwards.

You could practise by counting in different steps as you go up or down stairs.  Robert invented a great game when home learning playing hide and seek but counting in different steps each time.  You could chalk a hopscotch but put on the numbers in 2s 5s or 10s.

You can practise your sequences using this top marks game.  We have been focusing on the even number as 2s as this leads into the 2 times table.  If you are practising counting in 5s or 10s make sure you pick steps of 5 or steps of 10 as the others steps to 5 will give you steps of 3 or 4 as well.
