Music Makers
Today, we all had a great time learning how to read music! We put our new skills to the test, by playing some tunes on the recorder. Finally, we played along to a pop song, using the new notes that we had practised!
Forces
This week we investigated which forces need contact between two objects. We found that many contact forces were in action on the playground. Non-contact forces, like magnetic force, can act at a distance.
Getting Creative!
This week, we have been getting creative as poets and artists. We gathered inspiration for our poems from 'Someone', by Robert Louis Stevenson. Using paint on polystyrene tiles, we created bold prints to accompany our poems.
Viking Life

Wellbeing KickStart!
This week, Lucas, from Wellness Kickstart, came in to work with us during PE. We worked on fitness core skills, such as speed, agility and flexibility. In addition, we considered how sleep and diet are important factors in living a healthy lifestyle.

Today we were visited by Natwest's Community Banker, Chris. We talked about how to be responsible users of ICT, to develop a better understanding of internet safety.

Meet the Berserkers!
Viking Berserkers (or berserks) were said to have fought in a trance-like fury, a characteristic which led to the modern English word 'berserk'. Today during Art, we drew our own crazy Berserkers. They are absolutely fantastic and we can't wait to name them next week!
Wonderful Words!
Today we used dictionaries to find words and to improve our understanding of the text that we are studying. We are getting so much better at locating words in the dictionary.
Viking Runes
Today we discovered that the Vikings thought that their alphabet was made up of more than letters. They believed each letter, or rune, had magical powers. During art, we had a go at writing our own names in runes.
100% Attendance
