Inspired by our trip to Strikes we have been planting our seeds.  We have been learning about what will help the seeds to germinate.  We set up some experiments with mustard seeds to investigate what a seed needs to germinate and grow well.

We enjoyed learning about the fire engines when the fire engine and its firefighters came to visit. Some of us were very brave and used the hoses to squirt water! 

This week we investigated which forces need contact between two objects.  We found that many contact forces were in action on the playground.  Non-contact forces, like magnetic force, can act at a distance.

Look at all of our brilliant handmade Little Red Riding Hoods.  They will be used next week  to help create our own stories.

This week we have been getting busy learning all about making equal groups.  We have been organising larger quantities into groups of 2's, 5's and 10's to help us count them more easily.  Knowing how to make and count equal groups will help us begin to learn how to multiply and divide.  Why not…

We had a super morning exploring the fire engine and listening to the interesting facts from the fire fighters. 

Today we said a big well done to our children with 100% attendance.  A big well done to Sam, Reivenna, Ciara and Jessica as well as Emily, Katie, William and Millie.  We also celebrated those children who had worked hard to improve their attendance.

This week, we have been getting creative as poets and artists.  We gathered inspiration for our poems from 'Someone', by Robert Louis Stevenson.  Using paint on polystyrene tiles, we created bold prints to accompany our poems.
